Build your budget in separate parts
Use the following checklist to read a quote. Some charges may be included in another line, so check what each amount covers before adding it again.
| Cost | What to check |
|---|---|
| Product price | Selected size, colour, quantity and current seller price. |
| Delivery within China | Seller-to-warehouse charge and whether several items share it. |
| Agent services | Purchasing or handling charges shown in the current terms and checkout. |
| Optional warehouse work | Extra photos, measurements, repacking or other services you choose. |
| Payment and conversion | Checkout exchange rate and any payment-provider charge. |
| International delivery | Final package, selected route, surcharges and optional cover. |
| Destination charges | Check the current rules and what the quote includes. |
Separate the item order from the parcel order
At the buying stage, record the item price, seller delivery and any service charge. At the shipping stage, review the items being packed, the package measurements, your destination and the available routes.
If your agent asks for an initial shipping payment, check how it handles any difference after the parcel is measured. Keep both the estimate and final invoice so you can reconcile the actual total.
Compare amounts in the same currency
A seller price in Chinese yuan and a card payment in pounds are different parts of the calculation. Record the checkout conversion rate and the final GBP amount shown by your payment provider.
Use one currency when comparing two orders. Include payment charges only where they actually apply, and check whether a refund would follow the original conversion rate or the provider's current rules.
Estimate shipping with a realistic parcel
A parcel estimate becomes more useful when you enter the likely packed weight and dimensions. A large, light item can cost differently from a compact, heavy item on a route that uses volumetric weight.
Compare eligible services for your actual UK destination. Check restrictions, billing rules, package limits and what any optional cover includes. Our UK shipping guide explains the details to review.
Choose services for a reason
- Request a useful measurement when fit is uncertain, rather than ordering extra photos without a purpose.
- Ask how repacking changes protection and parcel size before removing a shoe box or other packaging.
- Compare consolidation with separate parcels using actual quotes; combining items is not automatically the cheapest option.
- Read the exclusions, claim evidence and deadlines for any parcel cover before paying for it.
- Keep some flexibility in your budget until the parcel has been packed and quoted.
Read the last checkout screen carefully
Confirm the recipient, items, shipping route, selected extras and total. Save the order record and any written clarification about a charge you did not understand.
Rates and service policies can change. This page explains how to read the bill; it does not publish a fixed Kakobuy tariff or promise a particular saving.
Add up your own estimate
Enter your current quotes in GBP. This adds the amounts you supply; it does not calculate a shipping tariff, exchange rate or tax bill.
